A classic Art Deco tube‑lined vase by Charlotte Rhead for Crown Ducal, decorated in the sought‑after “Lotus Leaves” pattern. Rich orange and sepia tones with raised slip‑trailed outlines and a stippled ground, signed ‘Rhead’ to the base with the Crown Ducal printed mark. A fine example of 1930s Stoke‑on‑Trent design.

Charlotte Rhead (1885–1947) was one of the leading Stoke‑on‑Trent Art Deco designers. After early work at Wood & Sons and Burgess & Leigh, she joined A. G. Richardson (Crown Ducal) in 1931, leading their tube‑lining department through the 1930s.
The Lotus Leaves motif is typical of her bold, repeating banded designs with raised tube‑lining and stippled grounds, aimed at the fashionable middle market between c.1933–1940.
