Historical Context
Historical Context
Mirrors of this type were widely made by cabinet shops in the Midlands and North of England for halls and bedrooms; the rope-and-bead pattern reinterprets late‑Georgian motifs but in the lighter, tidier Edwardian taste.
Quarter‑sawn oak (stained/ebonised on the high points), silvered glass plate, original softwood backboard typically.
