Michel Caugant, France – faïence pheasant terrine dish, late 20th century.
Hand-painted earthenware in the form of a cock pheasant. Has a domed lid that sits on an oval bowl.
Underside printed in French “Cette pièce en faïence véritable a été entièrement réalisée à la main… Michel Caugant.”.
These were sold originally with pâté and are now collected as country-kitchen tableware.
Size: approx. 25 cm long, 15 cm high.
Condition: Good. Glossy and clean overall; small chip on the inner rim of the base (shown); minor age marks to the interior.
