Historical Context
Historical Context
Jaipur blue pottery is a Persian/Timurid craft introduced to North India in the Mughal period and fostered by the Jaipur court in the 19th century. The craft was revived in the 1950s–60s by master potter Kripal Singh Shekhawat and cooperatives in Jaipur. Fish motifs are auspicious in Indo‑Persian art, symbolising prosperity and good fortune.
