Vintage Langham Glass Robin Paperweight – Hand‑Blown Art Glass Bird, Made in England
Vintage Langham Glass Robin Paperweight – Hand‑Blown Art Glass Bird, Made in England
Charming hand‑blown glass robin by Langham Glass, Norfolk.
This solid glass figure beautifully captures Britain’s favourite garden bird, with a warm orange breast, mottled grey plumage and rich brown back, all cased in clear crystal. Each Langham piece was individually gathered and shaped by a skilled glassblower, so no two robins are exactly alike.
Bearing its original black‑and‑gold Langham Glass – Made in England foil label and etched LANGHAM ENGLAND mark to the base, this is a classic example of late‑20th‑century British studio glass and a lovely addition to any paperweight, bird or art glass collection.
Perfect for a desk, windowsill or festive display – or as a thoughtful gift for bird lovers and glass enthusiasts.

Historical Context
Historical Context
- Maker: Langham Glass, founded 1979 by master glassblower Paul Miller in Langham, Norfolk, England.
- Movement: Part of the late‑20th‑century British studio glass boom, when small workshops moved away from purely industrial production towards hand‑crafted decorative pieces.
- Design: Langham became well known for solid glass animal figures and paperweights using coloured frit (small chips of coloured glass) cased in clear crystal, as in this robin.
Robins are an especially popular Langham subject because the bird is an emblematic British garden and Christmas motif, so this design has a strong collector following.
